The kids are coming home!

I've missed them. Not crying every night missed them, but missed them a lot. They're the people I actually speak to most, so my voice has been slightly underused the last couple of weeks.

Was introduced to a very nice UBS in Port Orchard this weekend. My friend, the lovely GA, took me there after she made us a wonderful lunch (Caesar salad with warm bacon dressing). I came home with a large bag of new-to-me books to read, and it was a perfectly lovely day, weather-wise. I don't get to see GA nearly enough, and it's always worth the drive when I do. I did note though, that Port Orchard had a slight funk to it; maybe it was low tide.

My family has lived in this state since 1981, and this was my first visit to Port Orchard. I feel vaguely ashamed of that. I've called this place "home" since 1981 (even if I've only lived here about 5 of the years since then) and I don't feel like I've really explored enough of it. So, I'm thinking about maybe trying to hit the beach this coming weekend, a day trip to Westport or something similar. I think it's time to get to know Washington. Or at least Western Washington.
