Getting back on track

Well, yesterday, I had a 47-point day. Unfortunately, I only had 30 available to me between daily points and activity points, my weekly allowance points having been used up already. However, I tracked them all. I sat down with my slider and owned up to what I had done, instead of just writing "badness" and a big question mark on my tracker (which I've been known to do in the past).

I get my little paper tracker each week at my meeting. And this week, for the first time in months, I wrote something in the area that says: This week I commit to: I wrote "Writing down everything honestly." So even though I don't feel good about yesterday's food choices, I still feel good about saying I'm on OP (on program) because as long as I'm getting in my good health guidelines and writing it down, I am on program, just not doing it perfectly.

About 3 years ago, I was in infomercial junkie mode, and I got the SMART technique. The infomercial was with "The Mommies" and it's not a diet per se, but a CD program you listen to to help with the mental part of dieting. It's not subliminal, because you can hear every word that's being said, and it's not QUITE self-hynosis, but pretty close. I've had the CDs kicking around for a while, and last night, even though it was Tuesday and everyone knows that you can't start anything on a Tuesday, I pulled them out, and listened to the first track. This program said when I first got it that it works best if you have a specific eating plan because they work in conjunction. Last time I tried it, I was on Atkins the first couple of weeks and then I was just doing my own thing. This time, I figure that
(A) It can't hurt to use another tool that I have available and
(B) at least this time, I'm attempting to do it right.

I guess we'll see how it goes. I'll keep you posted.

Currently rereading: Angels: A Novel by Marian Keyes. Two big thumbs up.
