And So I Wait

I should be working, but I'm waiting. For two things. First and foremost, I'm waiting for the washing machine to finish my final load because it's just obnoxiously loud enough that it distracts me while I'm trying to work. Second, I'm waiting because Tony might call and need a ride home. He did that yesterday and it took me by surprise, but today I'll be prepared. School is out at 10:15 today (last day of the trimester) so if the phone rings anytime in the next 18 minutes, then I'm off.

I wait for other things, too. Less definable things. I wait for inspiration to blog, and when I get sick of waiting, I blog anyway, even if it doesn't seem to really go much of anywhere. I'm pretty sure that's what's happening now.

A few days ago, I was on an astrology website, actually for Melly. I was trying to find some information about Aquarius for her, and I stumbled onto this in the Sagittarius predictions for October, November, and December.

Saturn going backwards at the beginning of December is a sign that you have some more work to do on a journey you've been on since July 2005, but in September 2007 you arrive at your destination.

This is spooky. My Weight Watchers journey started in July 2005, on July 20, 2005, as a matter of fact. That's the day I walked into a meeting after an absence of many years. I've been discouraged about my weight loss efforts lately; the plateau from hell followed by gains 3 weeks in a row most recently had kind of knocked the wind out of my sails, but this helps. This motivates (and I don't believe in motivation, not in the long term anyway). This actually makes me believe that I can do it. That I will do it. And that I WILL be at goal less than a year from now.

I should probably go work out to accomplish that, but:
1. My workout clothes are all in the washer or the dryer.
2. The minute I'm naked to start getting my workout clothes on (if I can find something clean that fits, and that's a big if) the phone will ring. It may not be Tony needing a ride, but it will ring. I just know it.
3. I flat out don't feel like it right now. Which is not a good excuse, but it's all I have.

Oh, and I'm on a complete Laurie Notaro kick right now. She's the funniest, reformed drunk dorky girl ever. I love her books. I'll be going to the library later today to pick up another one.
