Why I Don't Ever Want To Live Anywhere But Here

So Friday night and yesterday afternoon were Spring Arts walk in Olympia. Click http://community.theolympian.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=9805 for a small photo gallery of Arts Walk.

These pictures were from Friday night, as that's the bigger event. It seems sad to me, but many of the participants in Arts Walk only show on Friday evening. I will grant that there's a different crowd on Saturday afternoon than Friday night, but having attended both days this year, there was some way cool stuff happening on Friday night that was just gone on Saturday.

Then on Saturday afternoon is one of my favorite Olympia events happens. It's Procession of the Species!

Unfortunately, my camera was acting up yesterday, so I have no pictures, but if you click this link, http://community.theolympian.com/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=9904, you can see some lovely pictures courtesy of The Olympian.

Definitely worth a look.

My one regret is that after the parade was over, we were so tired and our feet hurt so badly that we didn't go to the Toy Piano Recital that was going on at the Capitol Theater. I have a feeling that would have been a highlight.

The Bug Parade.. tee hee.. that's what I call it. Next year... chairs, sunglasses, tanning lotion and bikini's. We're there and with a bottle of tequila and your camera. Traci can hold the umbrella for us. LOL! *don't hurt me Traci*

the reason so many artists dont participate on Saturday is because no one comes out to see the art on Saturday, the crowds come only for the parade (I know, my art studio was open both Fri nite and Saturday, right at Washington and 5th, and almost NO ONE bothered to see the amazing recycled art and craft on display). its disheartening. love, etc Ruby Re-Usable
