It's not me, it's the camera

When it came time for me to receive my "stimulus" check, I went out and stimulted the economy to the tune of a new digicam. I got an 8 MP Sony CyberShot that has a macro feature that allows extreme closeups. That's how I've been experimenting with my floral photography. I put it in the right mode, hold the camera still, and click. These are the results.

These are more sedums from my mom's yard. Different plant a few feet away from where I took yesterday's photo.

This is a rhododendron flower in extreme closeup. This one is outside my apartment, and it's very faded now. This picture was taken about day 2 of the bloom when the color was still vibrant.

This one, I'm not sure what it is. Mom would know, because it came from her yard. It might even be yet more sedums. Apparently, they have a lot of different looks.

This one is the flower of a Christmas cactus. This is from mom's solarium. My Christmas cactus does not bloom, and if I showed it this picture, it would shrivel up in jealousy.

Last one. These are the smell and color of spring to me. (Again from mom's). The blue in the background is part of my house that's being built. The siding went on last week.

There are more pictures, but these, and the one from yesterday are the ones I like best.

Thanks, Dana. Since she retired and has time for it, her garden has become quite amazing.
