This has just been one of those weeks that I can't wait until it's over. And that's not just because I'll be on a boat next week, at which time, the lovely and talented
Lindsay Jean will be guest blogging once again.
I'm not going to bore you with the details of my week, let it suffice to say that it hit a low of
crappiness yesterday when, on her 22
nd birthday no less, Amanda lost her job. She'll be okay, but it was and continues to be really tough on her. Fortunately, before that happened, there was cake.

The cake was made by me on Monday in anticipation of the birthday. Apparently Amanda photographed it after she put the sprinkles on (she likes the sprinkles) because I did not take this picture, but I like it, so what the heck.
Meanwhile, this evening, both Amanda and Katie (Amanda's friend who's staying with us right now) have gone out for a while. I finished a pretty brutal 10-hour workday, and walked out in the
living room to watch some TV and found this.

This is what the
kittehs do when a person leaves the house. How long they wait by the door is a measure of how much they love the person who left. Since Amanda was the last one out this evening, I imagine they'll be there for a little while.

Poor Amanda :( That's a craptastic thing for a job to do on someone's birthday! Tell same name (and now age) lady that I hope she had a good birthday despite it.
My kitteh does that too! And she cries piteously when I am not home, which I do not know because it stops when I get home, but I've heard stories LoL.
Enjoy your cruise!!!
Well that is seriously spooty. I'm very sorry to hear about this turn of events.
Lovely kitteh pic!
How frustrating for Amanda. I hope she doesn't let it discourage her too much. She is awfully young for something like this to happen to her.
