Friday Knitting Blog (04/01/2011)

Once again, it's Friday, another week has gone by (I'm having a hard time reconciling myself to the fact that it's April), and time to show off my socks.

These are the finished Skews (My project title for them on Ravelry is Skew your Veggies).  Back view first so the coolness of the heels can be seen.
And from the front to show off the diagonal direction of the stripes. These are awesome, and I'll almost definitely make the pattern again.

But for now, I'm on to the next sock. The pattern is Sweetheart from the Winter 2011 edition of Knitty. They're my first worsted weight socks, my first socks with cables, and will be my first socks with an afterthought heel (are you as excited as I am about all these firsts?). They're moving along pretty quickly.
A close up of the heart shaped cable detail. (click on this or any picture to embiggen, you know the drill).
The goal for the week is to finish the first one (minus the heel) and assess my yarn. I'm using the Valley Yarns Superwash and I have concerns about the yardage. These may end up with a different color for the heel and for the cuff.

All for now.

Love the "Skew Your Veggies" and the Sweethearts are turning out beautifully.
