Friday Knitting Blog (06/03/2011)

So, the sweater, is finished, and now I'll talk about it one last time. This is the Ravelry project page for it (open to the public and not just Rav members), and that's where you can see all the project specifications. Pattern (with link), yarn information, needle, and all the notes.  There are lots of notes for this sweater. Here is the pattern link on Knitty if you're not interested in all my opinionated stuff, which is perfectly fine.

A super-close up picture of one of the lace segments. I like the way it looks, and it's a decent representation of the color, at least on my monitor.

And the completed sweater all laid out.

And even though it's June (in my sort of defense, it was still May when I finished on Sunday) I've worn it a couple of times. I wore it on Monday to the movies (Hangover Part II ~ loved it!) and it was perfect for the extra-aggressive air conditioning. Plus it was about 60 degrees here on Monday so it was good (wore it with a tank). I also put it on today before the house got warmed up and it was good to work in. My only issue, now that it's done and I've worn it a couple of times is that I kind of wish I had made one size smaller or gone down a needle size. I chose the size that was closest to my bust measurement without being smaller, and seriously I can grab a handful of fabric on either side, and the shoulder seams are about an inch or so past where they should be (not hard to do actually; my shoulders are narrow). Lengthwise, it's perfect, but kind of baggy. It's fine for its intended purpose, but it could be better. Of course, just about everything I've ever made could be better, I'm sort of psychotic sometimes about picking apart my work. I'm working on doing that less, though; it's not an attractive trait.

There is another project on the needles right now, which is a gift, so no pictures until it's been given to the recipient, but it's super cute. After I'm done with that, definitely back to socks. I'm not buying yarn until Sock Summit, but I certainly have enough yarn to keep me busy until then. (Only 55 days until we hit the market place; I'm very excited.)

All for now.
