Yarn: Sock-Aholic Solids from Knitter's Brewing Company in Last Call (blue) and Margarita With Salt (green).
Needle size: US 1.5 (or a large US 1), 2.5 mm. I happen to be using a ChiaoGoo Red Lace circular, 32 inches in length, which I love.
I started to start this on Monday, having purchased both the yarn and the needle at Sock Summit (whee, Sock Summit!) last Friday. There were a couple of attempts that are best described as abortive, and finally on Wednesday morning, I came into my room, booted the kittehs, shut the door and watched this video. In it, the designer, known on YouTube as curiousknitter, demonstrates the beginning of the sock. I sat here with my needles and yarn, paused when I needed to catch up, and knit the first 2 cycles of the heel along with her. It was incredibly helpful. I did a couple more cycles before working on Wednesday, and then finished the heel at lunch that day. Thursday, I did some fun stuff with the pink yarn (left over from my Cherry Cola Socks) to temporarily bind off and form a provisional cast on for the rest of the sock. Now I'm using the Last Call and knitting my way down the foot. Once that's done, I'll pick up the provisional cast on and bound off stitches and knit the leg with Margarita with Salt. And then I'll do the whole thing over again because socks come in pairs.
Between now and next Friday, I'd like to finish this sock. I'm also working on pairing up some of the rest of the yarns I purchased at SS last week with patterns so that I have a direction in mind. A couple of them have patterns picked out, but not all. Sometimes I just go to where the yarn is stored and squeeze it, stroke it, and call it my precious (especially the ones with cashmere).
I may also adopt a project bigamy thing for a little while and work on a sweater too. Maybe.
P.S. There's only 1 picture this week because my camera has found a new way to be an asshole. It's taken to shuddering and literally shaking in my hand (while making a noise) every so often while I'm trying to focus. No more Sony digital cameras for this girl; I've had enough of its shit.

Oh wow - those colors look fantastic together! I am so excited to see this in person and examine its construction.
You're my knitting hero.
Oooh. The sock looks GREAT!!!
And for cameras, my family has one rule: CANON! CANON! CANON! Between all 9 of us, someone's always getting a Canon, and every single one has been a total workhorse. I bought my point-and-shoot in early 2007 and carry it with me at all times and have never, not once, had a single problem or complaint. The only problems we have with them is they last too damn long! LOL. We usually end up buying new before they've worn out, because the tech has changed so much! LOL.
I also have the Canon Rebel bought 3 years ago, and again, not a single problem. Well, there was the time I dropped the lens down a rocky hillside into a riverbank, but even then...still works perfectly.
