Hmmmm

I just realized I haven't posted here for almost a week. And it's not like I spent the week living in a cave.

On Thursday last, my car decided to break down on me a bit. Actually the power steering/AC belt broke while I was on my way to the library. Scared the shit out of me. Fortunately I was able to muscle my way into a parking spot (I was only a block away from the library) , and my wonderful brother D came out to rescue me. Of course we had to go to 3 auto parts stores to find the right belt and then back to one of them for additional tools to get the belt in place, but the car is running fine now. I love my brother, he's my hero, and one hell of a nice guy.

Friday was boring. I worked out with a new FIRM video that left me a quivering, sweaty lump of goo. It was great! Then work, blah, blah blah. Same ol', same ol'. Only 10 days left on that job (10/28 is my last day).

Saturday A decided to join me on my trip to Poulsbo to visit with the Noragirls (An and L). We went to the library scale and scored big. All the PB books were 25 cents each, and we both stocked up. We then headed over to the Sons of Norway rummage sale where we picked up some fun stuff, mostly for A, but some for me, too. After that, it was off to An's house for brunch and then melt-and-pour soapmaking. On the way home, we drove up to Kingston, where L lives, and took the ferry across the sound to Edmonds and drove back home through Seattle (just on the freeway). A's considering UW, and I wanted to show her where the campus is, even though we didn't have time to go see it. We'll have to schedule a trip.

On Sunday, I went shopping with mom for a while. She needed new brackets to hold up curtain rods. She's been without any kind of window cover for a while (since the remodel), and D told us that the brackets she had were incompatible with the rods. I hope that what we picked up Sunday will work. While we were in Linens 'N Things, I saw two new colors of Fiestaware that I don't have and really want. Plum and Peacock. Adding those to my collection, would give me service for 12. Perhaps a bit excessive, but I generally like excess. I'll have to find a way to afford them. Later on Sunday, we (A, T, and I ) went to the movies to see Waiting. Hilarious and gross all at the same time. I think it'll be a while before I can eat at a TGI Friday's, Applebee's, Bennigan's kind of place. Definitely recommend this movie on an empty stomach.

Took my measurements yesterday and after 1 week of doing the FIRM workouts (3 workouts total), I'd lost 1 inch from my waist and 1-1/2 inches from my hips. This stuff really does work. So I followed the calendar they supplied and did the same workout yesterday as I did Friday. This time I knew in advance the modifications that I needed to make, but I still couldn't follow all the footwork. I did better than Friday, though.

Finally late last night, I submitted my resignation to the Borg. Had to wait for my QB check to be deposited. I didn't think they'd fuck with it as long as my actual last day of work was after today, but I'm paranoid enough to have waited. Shortest resignation in history. Basically I said that I'm leaving at the end of the month. My last day will be 10/28. And still I hesitated before I could send the e-mail. Weird; I've been unhappy for a few months now, and I'm very excited about the new job, but still it was hard for me to make it official. I feel better this morning.

I got the training manual for the new job yesterday. I looked through it, but I'm going to spend some more time really getting familiar with it before my first training session. I want to be able to get off the training pay and be on production as soon as possible. I'm looking forward to working a more regular schedule with 2 days off in a row every week. Plus all the other bennies. I'm practically bouncing in the chair.

This may be the most boring entry I've made yet. Must remember to blog more regularly so as to be amusing.

Not boring at all! It's about time you made an entry! Not that I can talk...

Keep it up! :)
