31

is the number of pounds I've lost since July 20. Go me! Go Weight Watchers!

Saturday was my birthday (41) and my WW weigh in day. Both went well. Thanksgiving was good; the turkey was a little dry; I should have pulled it out about 30 minutes earlier than I did, but hindsight is always 20/20. The food was good; the company was good, so I have no complaints. We're a family who generally like each other, and no one gets drunk and starts criticizing. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that my mother's an only child. No cousins or aunts and uncles on that side (mom has cousins, but they're all in England) to interfere with our holiday fun.

D and K took me (and mom) out to dinner on Saturday night for my BD. It was great. Good food, good drinks, and it was an early night so working yesterday was not painful. I was slightly hammered when I came home (2 raspberry margaritas and 1 Washington Apple will do that do me), but no hangover. Plus the crab enchiladas were yummy. I burned through a lot of my weekly "fun" points for that dinner and drinks, but it was worth every last one of them. And now my 2 big indulgence days for the season are over. Thanksgiving and my birthday is it for me. I'll eat a nice dinner on Christmas day (I've requested roast beef and Yorkshire pudding) but I don't have a million holiday gatherings to attend. In fact, I'm pretty sure I have none. I work at home, so there's no office party. And there's no family group/church group/any other time vampire group I have to go make nice with, so I'm home free.

Sometimes it's great to not be a Christian. Makes life simpler.
