What I did and didn't get for Christmas

What I got: A cookbook, a couple of CDs, a tranquility fountain, and candlesticks.

What I didn't get: Insulted, in a fight with family members, my feelings hurt, drunk, or laid.

What I did: Baked (chocolate cranberry biscotti and peanut butter cup pie), worked, had holiday dinner with the family and friends, held an adorable baby, worked some more, and watched Tony Bourdain in Indonesia (love OnDemand).

What I didn't do: Drink alcohol (but only because I had to work), feel sorry for myself, or yell at anyone.

What I didn't do that's really impressive: Eat myself into a coma. I ate, I enjoyed, but I quit eating when I was satisfied and didn't keep shoveling food into my mouth until I felt sick. That's huge for me, words can't even describe what a moral victory that was.

All in all not a bad Christmas for a girl who's not a Christian.

WOW Connie! You did sooo much better than I did. The in-laws drove me to drink red wine, which I absolutely hate; but it blurs me into space and does the job. Other than that, a 30mg dose of Sudafed pretty much puts me in a stoned mood where nothing bothers me. "Go on! I dare you to annoy me", I say.. and I look at them bored. LOL!

What I got for Xmas: an electronic MOP from my mother. Oh yes, you heard me right. She thinks I can keep my house cleaner. Go figure. *eyeroll* It's the thought that counts?
