Just back from the county courthouse where I filed a petition for a legal name change. The hearing is set for June 12, 2008, at 9 a.m. and the clerk told me I'd probably be out of there by 9:30.
So basically not later than, say, 10 a.m. on June 12, I'll go back to being the girl I used to be, i.e., back to my maiden name. And I'm not going to change it again. I could get married 8 more times, and I'm going to stick with the name I was born with.
Also, That Boy graduates from high school that very same night, which is kind of what I was waiting for in terms of the name change, I wanted to have the same last name as the kids until school was done, and it's working out beautifully.

I wish I stuck with my maiden name... and YOU know why.. stop laughing. I know you're laughing. and don't tell a soul.
It seemed like a good idea at the time - I was all lovey and stupid on my honeymoon to think straight.
