And that worked out rather well for me. In both pictures, the original sock is on the left and the second is on the right. The second is smoother with fewer visible increases, and it took about 30 minutes less to knit, even though I did have to frog the cast on and the first couple of rounds a couple of times before I remembered what I did last night.
Here are my results.

I agree, the lonely sock was definitely tragic. The second one looks great!
These are great, you have way more patience than I do, that is for sure.
If no baby comes along to wear them, you could always get a cute bear to wear them. Then you never have to worry about them being washed...lol.
Or a large doll. Dolls get cold feet too, yaknow.
I agree ... doll socks! I'm quite impressed with your knitting progress. One day I'll learn. :-)
SweetSweetConnie, the socks are so cute! I'm impressed that you have mastered socks! I can't knit!

You did a great job! I always miscount, recount, and forget how many rows I do so most of my socks/slippers end up being one measly row longer or shorter. I'm getting better at it, LOL!
My kids both had long, long feet when they were born so you never know!
