It did take a while for today's photo opportunity to present itself, but eventually this evening, it came along in the form of a new piece of furniture in my kitchen/dining area. I've been wanting a baker's rack to put the microwave on and have cookbook storage, and today mom found one marked at 50% off it's regular price ($99 from $199) in the J. C. Penney flyer, so off we went. (On sale through Sunday 01/03/10 for anyone who's looking for one of these).
In this picture, Meredith is examining the box which is on the table.
A little while and some effort later, the assembled (actually unfolded and bolted, it was easy) and loaded baker's rack in my kitchen, or technically kitchen adjacent.

I actually already had a good amount of counter space, but moving the microwave onto the rack gave me a crapton more. If I were so inclined, I might be able to make a groom's cake in the shape of a snake (you get bonus points if you get the movie reference for that).
The breadmaker on the bottom actually belongs to mom. It's here on a temporary visa while her kitchen is being remodeled. Once it's gone, I'll probably start looking for some small, modular wine racks so that I can use the large space at the bottom for storage for the vino.

That's all for now. See you next year!

Steel Magnolias, of course! She can do Groom's cake in any shape, except snakes, because she doesn't have the counter space.
That armadillo was repulsive. LOL. Especially with the Red Velvet interior. LOL.
Dang, you beat me to the movie.
Kittehs can be so helpful with furniture assembly, can't they?
