You guys, there are only 2 more knitting blogs left this year, can you believe it?
Anyway, I'm done with gift knitting for the time being, and I'm back to knitting for me. I decided to bring back the Kai-Mei socks that I started in August. I had trouble with the fit back then, so I had to start over. It's going much better this time. I had hoped to have a completed sock to show off, but I wanted daylight available for pictures, and so you get to see my fabulous pedicure (Luxury Nails on Cooper Point Road for any local readers who are interested; the paraffin wax treatment was amazing).
So the sock, these socks have a distinct right and left. This is an almost complete right sock. The pattern starts at the outside of the foot in the gusset (decreases are moved to the top on that side) and then curves over the top of the foot. It's pretty clever, but it's a Cookie A pattern, so that's not a surprise.
Inside of mostly completed right sock. If you click, you might notice a small hole at the top of the instep gusset. It offends me, and I will fix it when I do the finishing.
And from the top. I have about 20 more rounds to cover my 3 longest toes; which should take me about another hour. Hopefully I'll have it in me tonight after I finish work (including some OT) and going to the store to procure cat treats. I should have gotten the cat treats last night when I went to the store, but I lacked the presence of mind to remember, so I'm headed back out tonight.
But look at the sock (and my toes), it's pretty cool.
My current knitting plans involve finishing this sock and knitting its mate. Then on to the next thing, probably the Sheep Heid.
