In which Connie tries something a little new, all pictures taken with my iPhone. First up, we have glass head pictures of the hats from last week.
Armando. He's in Valley Yarn Superwash from WEBS (yarn.com) in a color called Brownie. He took longer than he should have, and way longer than the hat below (Amanda) because of the dark color. It's just too hard to see the individual stitches with the dark colored yarn.
Amanda. She's knit in Cascade 220 Superwash. These two hats are really similar and basically are complementary. In theory, the Amanda hat is the more feminine version, but frankly I think they're both pretty unisex (no U-N-I sex ~ and now I'm channeling Joey Tribbiani).
This beauty is the sock that I started a couple of nights ago. I got tired of making socks that I intended to be for me only to have them fit smaller feet than mine. Therefore, I expanded from my normal 64-stitch sock to a 72-stitch sock. I think it might have screwed up the self-patterning on the yarn. I don't hate it, but it's not quite . . . what I expected (I want to say right, but it's not wrong).
So it turns out that it's March already, and so far this year, I've finished 3 hats. I've started a couple of other things and then pulled them out for one reason or another. For example, the pink striped sock from a couple of weeks ago had a spectacular heel fucktastrophe. That yarn might be sitting in a corner thinking about what it's done for a while. Time to step up my output and stop screwing up.

I love your hats, Connie. True enough, you really can't see the stitch pattern on the brown one, but if it is similar to the blue one, then wow! It would take me forever and a day to do all of that stitch definition because I would pull it out 100 times before I got it right! Just out of curiosity, did you make up the pattern or is is available on Ravelry or somewhere else?
As for the sock, I don't quite get what you may have messed up on. It looks like it striped very nicely.
Are you still loving the Hiya Hiya needles?
Linda, I am still loving my Hiya Hiyas; it's not just a summer thing.
The hat patterns are on Ravelry; last week's blog entry had links, and they're both in my project pages.
I think 3 hats is nothing to sneeze at! Could you bring Armando with you when you come to visit? I'd like to touch the Valley Yarns Superwash, and hem and haw about its possible uses with you.
