Today's new things, however, also make me very happy. I have this beautiful dining table that my brother, Darrin, made from a repurposed door. I just love the table, but we never eat at it because of the chairs. They were old, kind of rickety, and quite frankly too narrow through the seat. Whenever I sat down, I felt like the sides of the chairs were saying, "hey, your ass is fat." And nobody wants that at the dinner table. Anyway, mom got a new kitchen (also thanks to Darrin) and found that she no longer needed all the dining chairs that she had. So her old ones came to live here, at least for now. Someday I'll actually buy new chairs, but chairs are expensive and it's hard to find ones that I really like.
Today's pictures, which really don't need individual captions, are of the girls checking out the new chairs. The cushions almost certainly smell like mom's cat, and so my girls are going to be sniffing around them for a while.
