Friday Knitting Blog (09/23/2011)

The cardigan is ever so slightly bigger this week, but not enough so you'd notice in a picture. It's been an insane time recently in work terms, and this particular project is not idiot knitting. When work is this mentally draining (which I expect to continue for another couple of weeks), when the work day is done; I have a very hard time focusing on a complicated stitch pattern.  In the interest of full disclosure, I will also say that there's been new TV this week (yes, I watch a lot of TV, no I don't think that's a bad thing) and new TV also largely requires idiot knitting. To me, idiot knitting is a sock or maybe a hat that's knit in the round and has no stitch pattern. I don't need to look at every stitch to do that (it's relatively impressive to be able to knit without looking), but since I'm being project monogamous, there's no hat or sock on the needles at the moment.  I could cast on something else, but that will just slow the progress of the sweater even more.

I should be able to get to the point where it's time to make the sleeves on the cardigan, and perhaps get some sleeve work done over my "weekend," which is Sunday and Monday, and that continues to be the goal. We'll see what happens. I'm on a bit of a deadline for the 4 hats for sailors that I have listed  in my goals for this year, so that could put a kink into my plans. I'll keep you posted.
