Friday Knitting Blog (02/03/2012)

As promised, this week I have pictures.

First up is the progress on the Sheep Heid hat. I'm not very far yet with this because I discovered pretty quickly that it's daylight knitting. The color differences are pretty subtle, and I need to see what I'm doing. I do have an OTT light, but it's a small one that I use in my office, and I don't really knit in here a lot (unless I'm in a webinar). Since I spend many of my daylight hours working and not knitting, I haven't done much on this since last weekend. I'm not working on Sunday or Monday, though, so I hope to really start to make gains on this.

This is the sock that I started during the power outage. I have made some progress on it. It's pretty much TV knitting, but I suppose at some point I should measure it and see how close I am to turning the heel. I'll get some work done on this in the next little bit, too.

This is why the sock's not further along. One of my online friends did something really lovely for me lately (and I don't know if it's OK to talk about it), and I want to send her a little something as a thank you. I'll finish this tonight. I don't know if she reads the blog or not (I'm guessing probably not), but I'd like to keep some mystery in it. Once it's done and has been received, I'll put pictures of the finished object out into the world.

So that's what's happening in my knitting life. A hat for me, a sock for me, and a mystery gift. I am also starting to think about Madrona and the market place. I'm taking 2 days off work, not both for Madrona, but still, a 4-day weekend coming soon. That Friday, I plan to lounge around the house. Saturday is Madrona (I really should have a list together soon) with the ever lovely Shnoodle (AKA Lindsay). Sunday I may just pet yarn all day and call it my precious. It's a good plan, don't you think?

It's a GREAT plan! I can't wait.

Also, your Sheep Heid looks so pretty already. I can see what you mean about daylight knitting, though. Those are some very subtle color changes. Good job picking yarn, as usual.
